Advice from Miss Swales the Younger

My niece is 5 years old. 

We have a lot in common. 

We dress the same 

(this says more about my fashion sense than hers), 

we have the same colour hair and eyes, 

we have the same initials 

and we are both incredibly funny

(maybe that should read, we both find each other incredibly funny...).

She has offered me some great advice this week:

"If you tip your head over like this," 

(She narrowly misses the wall as she flips her head violently forward) 

"And then back again like this,"

(She narrowly misses my stomach as she flips her head violently backwards)

"It makes your hair look really pretty."

(Her friend Tina told her this, so it must be true)

"Don't wear your glasses. It makes you not look like you."

"Who does it make me look like?"

"It makes you look like Uncle Dan."

"But Uncle Dan is bald and has a beer belly."*

"I know."

 Ouch.
